Hugh Laurie Scores Golden Globe Nomination

Congratulations to Hugh Laurie on his Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance By An Actor In a Television Series – Drama.
Other nominees are Patrick Dempsey of Grey’s Anatomy, Matthew Fox of Lost, Kiefer Sutherland of 24, and Wentworth Miller of Prison Break.
Fine thespians all, but Hugh Laurie should be the obvious winner. No other actor has ever so successfully combined such a poignant mixture of anger and vulnerability.
Go, Hugh! The Golden Globes will air January 16th, 2006 at 8p.m.
And congratulations to the House writing team on their Writers Guild Award nomination!

All the more astonishing as Hugh Laurie, born and educated in Middle England and educated at Oxford, has the hallmark English accent which I would have though impossible to disguise.

I am a huge fan of the fox tv show Prison Break. I started watching it a few weeks ago and I am now totally addicted. I have heard that the new series starts in March, is this true? and do you know the exact date?
Many thanks and all the best with your blog

Being British I am used to Hugh Laurie in comedies playing posh but dim-witted characters; its wonderful to see the full extent of his acting abilities. We love him!

I’m SO glad Hugh won this. Dempsy sucks Sutherland suck and Fox’s and Miller’s acting ability don’t measure up to Lauries; so, naturally, Hugh was the perfect choice. I just hope the ‘07 Emmy’s turn out the same way for both Hugh AND the show! Hugh/House FTW baby!
