House is Right

House LIVE Blog: “House vs. God”

by Cory on April 25th, 2006

We’re off!

It’s a church meeting, where a young faith healer (15 yrs. old) is at work. He has taken a walker from an older woman, and he beckons her to walk. She does, and as the healer is thanking God, he is dropped to his knees.

House limps into the hospital, and Wilson demands his DVD player. Apparently, he has moved out. The team is examining our healer.

To Cameron: “God told me you were kind.”

He’s got some other messages from God, about her harboring vengeful feelings toward a coworker. The only thing the test reveal is low sodium.

House: “You talk to God, that’s religious. God talks to you, that’s psychotic.”

Interesting, House is dressing in white: white t-shirt; white oxford; white sports coat. Now he wants to chat with the patient?

New storyline: Wilson is chatting with a patient, who is ready to give up. He isn’t. Enter House over the balcony.

Wilson: “Can this wait five minutes?

House: “Is she dying?

W: “Yes”

H: “Before the end of this consult?

W: “They could build monuments to your self-centeredness.”

The case seems simple; seems House just wants to rant about religion.

Now the kid, Boyd(?), is zombie walking thru the halls. He’s singing, and in some sort of altered mind-state. Boyd sees Wilson’s patient, Grace, and prays for her healing. Wilson is annoyed; Chase is embarrassed; Grace seems touched.

At the white board (Nothing’s actually been written, yet.) and they’re working on the diagnosis. Wilson storms in and reads House the riot act. House pops his meds and sends the team off to do an MRI.

There is something on the board: House - 1; God - 2. Boyd wanders in and chats with House. House is attacking his ministry. Boyd says God wants House to invite Wilson to the poker game.

MRI results are back, and they have revealed something operable.

Wilson and Grace are chatting. Wilson is trying to talk her down, bring her expectations back to reality. Grace, however, wants to hang onto the hope.

Grace: “I like the view.”

Wilson wants to re-scan her liver.

Chase and Foreman are trying to talk Boyd into surgery, but he refuses. House wants Wilson to convince Boyd; Wilson wants in on the poker game. Looks like Wilson will be playing, and Boyd will be in surgery.

At home and House is playing the piano, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.” Wilson pops in: Grace’s tumors have shrunk!

Back at the hospital, and House wants to tackle both cases. He puts the team on Grace’s file while stalling Boyd’s surgery. Cameron looks for errors in the old scans; Foreman and Chase are in her home looking for a source of unusually high household radiation. House - and Wilson - are at the poker game.

House: “Dry cleaner, accountant, guy from the bus stop, Wilson.”

Wilson is reading House like a book… and vice versa: Wilson has been sleeping with Grace! (That’s also how Boyd found out about the poker game, or so House figures.) AND he’s moved in with her!

While arguing in the street the team calls: Boyd is spiking a fever.

At the white board, House declares it’s time for a lumbar puncture. Boyd is refusing; Foreman appeals to Dad; Dad can’t say no to his boy. House wants Wilson to work his magic; but Wilson thinks the fever might the the outlyer… which gets House thinking herpes. Turns out some herpes viruses have been known to attack tumors. This time Dad step up.

Dad: “I have faith in the Lord. You I trust… as much as you can trust a teenager.”

Boyd apologizes to House. The final score: House 3 - God 3. Grace is moving to Florence, Italy. Wilson needs a place to live, but he turns down House’s offer.

Wilson: “House, you are… as God made you.”
