Hugh Laurie and Lisa Edelstein Get Chatty at Fox TCA Bash
I’ve read that Fox throws a pretty good party in conjunction with the Television Critics Awards. While I, alas, have not had the opportunity to find out for myself, the reports I’m reading tell me last Tuesday’s event was no exception. Lots of stars. Lots of fun.
A few of our House stars were on hand to celebrate, and Ann Oldenburg of USA Today had an opportunity to chat up Hugh and Lisa, who judging by their pictures were the yin and yang of party girl and somber star.
House’s Lisa Edelstein, who plays hospital administrator Lisa Cuddy, had a little naughtiness on her mind, too. She suggested how her character’s relationship with House (Laurie) should play out: “I’d say we should have a one-night stand that fails miserably. But that’s just me.”
Laurie said he doesn’t want to know what’s going to happen on the show. “I don’t even want to know what’s going to happen after lunch,” he joked.
When asked how life has changed since the show got so big, he said, “If I had a life, I’m sure it would be very different. I go from 6 in the morning till 10 at night — work, work, work. Then I watch a TiVo’d version of American Chopper while I eat my cold spaghetti, and I go to bed. That’s my life.”
When the show was on hiatus, he did “a big fat nothing. I went back to England, and I walked the dog and played the piano.”
Hmmm… A one night stand, aye? Sounds better than the clinical route Cuddy’s pursuing. Though, there is no guarantee that you are… shall we say… “successful” on the first attempt. What happens if the one night stand fails? Try, try again, they always say.
And Hugh is always so understated. He does know that he won, right? And about that cold spaghetti. Surely the man can afford a microwave oven now.

haha, I think lisa is right on with the one night stand. I think that house and cuddy should have a sort of mixed relationship, somewhere in between the uncomplicated sex relationship cameron and chase were having and the one house and stacey had.
But I’m not totally sure how that would work, but it sounds good!
