Hugh Laurie is better educated and more talented than Simon Cowell. He has always performed to the highest of theatrical standards. People like Mr. Laurie should be paid an amount which relates directly to their talent; however, in today’s world, everything is a popularity contest. This is a sad commentary on today’s people. Simon Cowell is a shrewed business man, but does not have Mr. Laurie’s talent. The difference in their salaries is phenominal. Mr. Cowell makes too much money and Mr. Laurie makes too little. Hugh Laurie deserves better.

Even though I write an American Idol blog, I would have to say that it does pain me to know that Hugh Laurie is making less than Simon. Yes, I know that Simon deserves credit and works hard but his show is on the air 2 nights a week for a few months a year. Hugh is the star of a weekly, hour-long drama.
Sadly, I find them both smokin’ hot ;)

Hugh Laurie is actually an actor, who has to remember lines, places to stand, deadpan comments that would have me laughing for hours, and what does Simon do? Mock people. Hugh Laurie so needs to be payed more. Simon just gets to sit in a nice comfy chair, drink Coke, and say “You suck” while Hugh is really working. Sorry, Simon. I do really like you, but you’re really overpaid.

I can’t imagine anyone at THIS website will come on and say Simon Cowell or any of the actors listed deserve more money than Hugh. If they do, they are at the wrong website! LOL! :D I was just commenting to a friend today regarding Hugh’s Emmy nomination and how I feel he is overdue for a win. I said even if his voice on HOUSE was his real voice and he really did walk with a cane, he’d still be derserving for his amazing acting talents alone. Now we put his acting ON TOP OF having to do it in an American accent AND do all that work with the cane (Hugh often says what to do with the cane is the thing he has most trouble with) and I doubt ANY actor on tv works harder than he does. And let’s not forget the piano playing! :D If actors got “merit pay”, I don’t think any network could afford Hugh! :)

Hugh Laurie is a pheunominal actor, he has to speak American for the show, work with props, learn his lines, work very long hours, be funny, entertaining and hott all at the same time. [Well, he doesn’t really have to work hard to be hott at all :D]
In my own opinion, he can do what alot of these actors can’t, well atleast not all at the same time. And what does Simon do? Listen to people sing, sit in a chair and drink soda and tell people the suck at singing.
I think it’s clear now who deserves the larger paycheck. :)

Well, there is the factor that Simon Cowell, does more things than just American Idol, in one year, but to get that much is just ABSURD! Hugh Laurie deserves more, he has to live here while filming this, so traveling back to his family is a lot of money! Luckily, House isn’t the only thing Hugh is doing right now, while on the hiatus for House, he was filming for a new movie. So at least he gets more money to attempt to reach Simon Cowell.

Hugh should be making WAAAAAAAAAY MORE money than Simon Cowell. He is a brilliant BRILLIANT actor! And he deserves to be paid way more than he is currently getting. I don’t see how (and why) Simon Cowell would be making more money than Hugh. That is just sad, and certainly not right.
