Will There Be a Musical Version of House?
December 31, 2007 by Lynn
TV Squad reported recently that the cast members of House are hoping that when the writers come back from strike they’ll pen an episode of House as a musical. After all, All of the original castmembers have musical experience and it’s possible that the three new members have musical abilities too. (Thanks to Patrick for the tip!)
Here are the things they list as mucial experience for House cast members:
- Lisa Edelstein authored, composed and performed in the AIDS-related musical Positive Me.
- Omar Epps was a member of a rap group called Wolfpak and was a back-up dancer for Queen Latifah.
- Hugh Laurie performs as part of Band From TV, and he plays piano.
- Jennifer Morrison did musical theater, played clarinet in her high school’s marching and symphonic bands and sang in the choir.
- Robert Sean Leonard performed on Broadway.
- Jesse Spencer performs as part of Band From TV, sang a song on the Uptown Girls’ soundtrack, was in an Australian boys choir and plays violin, guitar, bass and the piano.
Would you want to see one episode of House become a musical? Do you think it’s a dumb idea? Leave a comment to share your thoughts!

House Is Right New Year’s Resolutions

As the year comes to an end, it’s customary to make New Year’s Resolutions, things that we promise to do better in the upcoming year. I’ve been giving this some thought and here are some things I resolve to do better for you in the upcoming year.
- I resolve to write even more timely posts about the things happening with the show, the actors and the writers’ strike so you can be even better informed about them all.
- I resolve to come up with at least one new trivia item for you every two weeks to keep everyone amused. (I’ll post even more if I get great trivia suggestions sent to me by you)
- And I resolve to stay even more vigilant about finding the latest sources of information about the things you want to know about House.
I also have some suggestions for resolutions you, as fans of House, might consider making.
- You could resolve to subscribe to the feed for this site (if you haven’t already) so you will be informed of all the latest news as soon as I post it.
- You could resolve to take part in this site by making comments and sharing your thoughts about the show and what’s happening with the actors.
- You might consider sending a box of pencils to support the writers’ strike and to encourage the media moguls to get back to the bargaining table to settle the writers’ strike quickly so we can get more new shows in the works!!
- And you could resolve to send me a tip via email if you find out something relevant to the show that I don’t know about. (Hey, I don’t see everything, although I do try.)
And most of all, I hope you and all the people in your lives have a wonderful, prosperous and safe New Year!
House Diagnoses Starbucks’ “Pay It Forward”
December 30, 2007 by Lynn
Recently, fellow b5media blogger, Jonathan Ramsey and I were in a meeting at our day job (yes, folks, we work together away from blogging too) when one of our co-workers told us that he had heard of a Starbucks that had made the evening news recently.
The story was that a person was at the drive through window of the local Starbucks and had ordered a number of specialty coffee drinks, so it was taking the order a while to be completed. The man in the car behind was impatient and started to honk the horn to try to hurry the person up. The first person went to pay for the large order and said to the cashier to include whatever the man in the car following had ordered in his payment as well.
As the story goes, the man finally got to the window and found out that the car before him had paid for his coffee, which made him feel guilty. So he said that he would pay for the order of the person behind him. And the story went on to say that the trend continued on all that day of each person paying for the order for the car behind them.
Jonathan, being who he is, left the meeting and proceeded to look the story up online, only to find that it had not happened at all. It turned out to be an urban legend.
But it got me to thinking, what would happen if each of the characters on House had approached the Starbucks drive-through window and was told that the person in front of them in line had already paid for their order? Let’s see if we can think through this theoretical scenario…
First, and most obvious, I’m thinking that House would immediately laugh and say to himself, “What a sucker!! So can I have a couple of extra scones too?” Then he would drive away with his free drink.
Cameron would probably feel gratitude and would pay for the car behind her, then notice the second car behind her had small kids and that it was an old car, so she would pay for theirs too, since they would probably need it more.
I’m thinking that Cuddy would appreciate the fun of the situation and would continue the trend by paying for the person behind her.

House Episode 4.10: “It’s a Wonderful Lie” Episode Description
December 22, 2007 by Lynn
House Episode 4.10: It’s a Wonderful Lie
Air date: January 29, 2008
In the Christmas episode, Kutner decorates the office, and House is all um, you clearly don’t know any better like homie (Foreman) and then takes down the decorations. Kutner asks if they can do secret Santa.
Later house decides that yes, they can do secret Santa and writes everyones name and puts it in a stocking. Not a huge surprise that we come to find out he put his name on every paper. He does this to cause tension within the new gang, once they all find out they all have House, what are they going to do? Fight of course and fight they do.
To up the stakes, House “finds” a wrapped gift on his desk and opens it in front of the crew, it’s an iPhone, and he loves it. later we learn he stole Wilson’s iPhone to screw with his newbies.
The newbies don’t know what to do, they’re not telling House they know, 13 says she’s not getting a gift, but then sees Taub give House a gift and is all pissed cause now she has to give House a gift. House enjoys all their infighting. 13 ends up giving him a record.
