House Episode 4.10: “It’s a Wonderful Lie” Episode Description

by Lynn on December 22nd, 2007

Hugh LaurieHouse Episode 4.10: It’s a Wonderful Lie
Air date: January 29, 2008

In the Christmas episode, Kutner decorates the office, and House is all um, you clearly don’t know any better like homie (Foreman) and then takes down the decorations. Kutner asks if they can do secret Santa.

Later house decides that yes, they can do secret Santa and writes everyones name and puts it in a stocking. Not a huge surprise that we come to find out he put his name on every paper. He does this to cause tension within the new gang, once they all find out they all have House, what are they going to do? Fight of course and fight they do.

To up the stakes, House “finds” a wrapped gift on his desk and opens it in front of the crew, it’s an iPhone, and he loves it. later we learn he stole Wilson’s iPhone to screw with his newbies.

The newbies don’t know what to do, they’re not telling House they know, 13 says she’s not getting a gift, but then sees Taub give House a gift and is all pissed cause now she has to give House a gift. House enjoys all their infighting. 13 ends up giving him a record.

AHAHA! Only House would make Christmas a time for infighting. X_X And I’m pretty sure Cuddy will make her appearence. Hopefully she’ll get to give House something. That sad birthday card scene in the first season convinced me that Cuddy needs to eventually get House something awesome.

I’m sad that there’s no Cuddy…I’d rather have an all-encompassing teaser spoiler than one that simply gives away everything that happens in the secret santa part!

Why is there this large gap between new episodes. A two month break seems kinda excessive.

Justin, Are you aware that there is a writer’s strike going on? The episodes HOUSE have left will air in 2008…..better than nothing right?

  • Justin

I am aware of the strike but episodes are written and shot in advance. This means that the rest of the season is already written and produced, they just have to be aired.

I’m afraid that you’re wrong, Justin. According to Entertainment Weekly, which I trust, House has 3 un-aired episodes left. And in all interviews with the actors, they always say that they honestly don’t know too much about where their character is going, even without the strike, because the season completely written and produced during the summer.

Lola, Maybe I’m reading your post wrong but you agreed that the “season [is] completely written and produced during the summer,” which would have been Summer 2007. So this means that the season has already been filmed…so why hold onto the new episode for 2 months?

ohhhh where’s cuddy? there’s no huddy without cuudy!
has this episode already been shown?

    Justin: because they’re gay!

lol thats how i express my anger on them :)

Aargh! The pain of typos :) No, I meant “because the season ISN’T completely written and produced during the summer”. I just happened to leave out the most important part.

And Jelly…maybe I’m misunderstanding your comment, but that seems just a tiny bit homophobic…perhaps I just didn’t understand the “they’re gay” part completely.

Justin, For most tv shows they are about a month ahead of what is airing….sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. So I don’t think any of the shows have their entire season written. Many are waiting to show some episodes that are done during the Feb. sweeps….thus the wait.
    Hope that explains things now.

Well, another reason that Cuddy might not appear could be cuz this is the christams episode…and isnt she Jewish?
Like, in real life and in the show…
    Just a suggestion

I am hoping that Cuddy will be in this one.If she is not I will be mad beause the only reason I watch House is for Lisa Edelstein,Jennifer Morrison. And Jesse Spencer cause I am like totally in love with him and Hugh Laurie is just the hottest guy ever. But for the people that just started watching House and has not watched every eppy….They had a Christmas eppy a while back and Cuddy was in it.It is not because she is a jew or she would have not been in that one!

tv shows are started a few months in advance to their airing..and then eventually they start only being a month in advance. usually they have like 4 or 5 episodes done before the first is played, then it all catches up and they’re only an episode ahead for the rest of the season. at least thats how a few of the shows the company i work for has had it.
