  You can’t translate let the good times roll, it’s an idomatic expression. Ans it would be : Laissez le bon temps roulez. Good is not plural.

  You can’t translate : let the good times roll, it’s an idomatic expression. And it would be : Laissez le bon temps rouler. Good (bon) is not plural therefore the article (le) is not plural either.

  Love the new look. Only I’m sad that the other cast members are cut from the header…it almost symbolizes House’s growing loneliness.

  Actually, folks. I did use the phrase correctly. The thing that’s plural is “good times” not “good”, therefore the plural is correct. Besides, I double-checked on the OFFICIAL Mardi Gras site in New Orleans to be sure before I even posted it.

  hey,
  sorry to bug you again but i’m belgian so I speak french currently and even if the phrase is correct, it doesn’t mean anything here. To translate “let the good times roll” we maybe would say “laissez le bon temps passer” but it isn’t still a very good translation… you should have maybe just said : “amusez vous bien” or something like that.
  But anyway, I wanted to say that I loved your blog and that I visit it very often. Here in Europe all of your series are being watched and we’re as furious as you because of this stupid strike !! I miss house already.

  In much the same way that American don’t speak the same form of English that the English do, Cajuns don’t speak the same French as anyone else in the world. Correcting a Cajun’s French is like a Brit correcting an Alabamians English…..It Ain’t the same language. Different language, different world.
