The Return of “Blackadder?”
At one time, Hugh Laurie was a very funny and hugely successful part of the UK sitcom Blackadder. Now there’s an effort to revive the sitcom, perhaps in 2010 as well as a reunion show entitled Blackadder Exclusive: The Whole Rotten Saga and Blackadder’s Most Cunning Moments. And each of the original actors have been asked to be a part of it.
According to Digital Spy, Hugh has already agreed to take part, along with writers Ben Elton and Richard Curtis, and stars Tony Robinson, Stephen Fry and Miranda Richardson. It will include interviews and behind-the-scenes looks at the show. It sounds like fun!
Unfortunately, Rowan Atkinson, who was also a part of the show has turned down the offer to take part. He’s a private man and has declined comment.
I’ll keep you posted as details are released.

As awesome as this sounds, I hope Hugh doesn’t quit House or something to do this.

Rumours about this reunion have been on and off over the past decade. At a time rumour even was that they’d set Season 5 in the 1960s - which I think would have been hilarious.
I wonder what’ll come of it.

I can envision a reunion show with the stars and writers talking about the past series but there is NO WAY they can actually do another run of the series without Rowan Atkinson. “Blackadder” without Blackadder? There’s no point in even discussing such an idea.

This would be absolutely amazing, but as Janice said, there can’t be a Blackadder without Blackadder! Hmm. Is there some fan mail address we could bombard with pleas for Rowan to reconsider?

I actually wrote about this and the kind guy who runs the Blackadder Hall correct me in my assumptions… :)
It is only a 25 year anniversary special with people who were involved in making Blackadder.
And I agree with previous posters, as much as I love Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry, even Tony Robinson as Baldrick, if there ever is going to be a new series of Blackadder well the show is called Blackadder :)

Dittos, Janice….. they MUST have Rowan Atkinson, or there’s absolutely no point!
