Fry & Laurie Tackle Linguistic Conundrums

August 24, 2008 by Lynn

Linguistic elasticity…who else would have a comedy bit based on such a subject but Fry & Laurie? In this very funny clip, Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry take a look at language. They humorously attempt to answer this question:

Is our English language, as we know it, capable of sustaining demagoguery?

Hugh Laurie’s “translations” are fabulous! You have to watch to understand how funny it is:

Hooray, probably my favorite Abofal sketch.

  2. LOL!

I love both of them… in. a. guy. way.

    Demagogues, indeed!

Oh how I love A bit of Fry and Laurie :)

But what I adore is Jeeves and Wooster. For anyone who has not seen it I would highly recommend it.
It is witty, clever and set in my favorite period in history…
And you know what? This was filmed in the 80s I think and I can say without a shadow of a doubt, Hugh Laurie looks way better in ahem his older days :)
