Press Release:
HOUSE AND THIRTEEN ARE TAKEN HOSTAGE BY A MAN WILLING TO KILL FOR A DIAGNOSIS ON “HOUSE” TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 25, ON FOX
Zeljko Ivanek (“Damages”) Guest-Stars
Episode Directed by HOUSE Executive Producer Katie Jacobs
A gun-wielding man from the waiting room at the Princeton-Plainsboro clinic takes House, Thirteen and several patients from the waiting room hostage in Cuddy’s office. The man claims to be sick with a long undiagnosed illness and demands medical attention from the best doctor in the hospital, threatening to kill any hostages necessary along the way. With a room full of already sick patients, House must use them as guinea pigs to assure the hostage-taker that the medications he is administering to him are legitimate. As Cuddy and the rest of House’s team communicate with House over the phone to run tests and offer possible diagnoses, they ponder the possibility that the hostage-taker has nothing physically wrong with him and that everyone in Cuddy’s office could wind up dead. With one hostage already shot, Thirteen wagers her own already diminished health as she simultaneously receives the experimental treatments the hostage is receiving. Her life lies in danger as House’s own determination to diagnose the hostage-taker threatens to thwart the SWAT team’s plan to put an end to the standoff in the “Last Resort” episode of HOUSE airing Tuesday, Nov. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/ PT) on FOX.

What is the music at the beginning of the show, the very beginning when people are walking in slow-mo. I want to download it.

I really enjoyed this epsisode. House acted like the House we’ve all come to know and, for many inexplicable reasons, love.
The only part I thought could have been written better was when House decided to give the guy back his gun.
Would House, having been shot himself and almost die, really have done that?
Would he not have first removed the bullets, then given it back to the guy? That way House could have continued to test/diagnose the gunman and the Swat team (assuming the gun was still loaded) would still have left them all alone. But no one’s’ life would have been again at risk, least of all his own.
That to me would seem the far more Housian thing to do. He gets what he wants, a diagnosis, the gunman gets what he wants, treatment, and 13 and the “dude” gets what they want; to be safe and live.
But maybe House doesn’t know how to unload a gun?
I’m curious about the upcoming Cuddy and House share an office thing. It’s again, very fanfiction-esque, but I hope the script writer’s a slick one. This could get very campy and House and campy does not work for me.
I actually miss the old days of the House/Cuddy dynamic. It was something tense and angry and forgiving and annoying for them both; understated but reluctantly affectionate. Two people with a history that sometimes got in the way of their working relationship. That was more titillating than the recent developements between them.
I hope we get a good angsty, angry Christmas ep’ this year. Even with House’s Head, Wilson’s Heart and the short streak of sad episodes that followed, there’s been far too much comedy the last two seasons for my taste.
But my love for House is undying none-the-less -that sexy Doc’ could charm ths skin off a cobra.
