Hugh Laurie Talks NASCAR
February 28, 2009 by Lynn
Last Sunday, the Band From TV performed at Auto Club Speedway where Hugh Laurie served as the race’s Grand Marshall. Hugh Laurie was interviewed by Reid Spencer of Sporting News and they talked a bit about NASCAR and Hugh’s daredevil side. Here’s an excerpt:
Q: Is this your first NASCAR race?
A: Yes, I’m a NASCAR virgin, but I’m very excited.
Q: As an elite athlete yourself, would you ever consider driving a stock car?
A: I would love to do that, but I don’t imagine I would have a hundredth of the talent necessary to do it—but I would love to try.
Q: What’s the fastest you’ve ever driven in a street car?
A: Well, I’ve been driven around a track in a McLaren F1 car at about 170 (mph), and that was an interesting experience. Myself, the fastest I’ve been has actually been on a motorcycle. That was on a Yamaha FZR 1000. I was getting close to 160. It was a one-off. I just wanted to see what it could do. It was the scariest piece of equipment I’ve ever had anything to do with.

House: Info About the Next Four Episodes

Today, FOX released new information about the next four new episodes of House. They give us a little bit of the plot for each of them and it looks like we’re in for some really terrific now House episodes!
There’s the patient who is as insulting as House and makes him look at his own behavior. And there’s the woman who swears that a cat has predicted her death. We’ll see House in a motorcycle accident and he is in the hospital bed next to a patient played by guest star Mos Def. And believe it or not, Meatloaf will be a guest star! There’s a lot to look forward to! Check it out:
Episode 5.17: The Social Contract
Air Date: March 9, 2009
House and the team take on the case of Nick (guest star Jay Karnes), a book editor who starts hurling insults at coworkers during a dinner party. Nick’s frontal lobe inhibition causes him to vocalize all of his innermost thoughts, resulting in extremely shocking outbursts directed at his family and the doctors trying to cure him. Meanwhile, House suspects that Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) and Taub (Peter Jacobson) are keeping something from him after he catches them both in a lie.
Episode 5.18: Here Kitty
Air Date: March 16, 2009
Nursing-home worker Morgan (guest star Judy Greer) fakes sick to get House’s attention after the home’s pet cat sleeps next to her. It seems that the cat only pays a visit to people if they are about to die – and does so with alarming accuracy. While House dismisses Morgan as a nut job, he is intrigued by her theory on the kiss-of-death cat, and sets out to disprove it. When Morgan falls seriously ill, he and the team are forced to get to the bottom of both mysteries.
Episode 5.19: Locked In
Air Date: March 23, 2009
In a special episode of HOUSE, shot and told predominantly from the perspective of a patient, Mos Def guest-stars as Lee, a man who awakens in New York after a bicycle accident unable to move or communicate in any way. House, himself injured in a motorcycle mishap, occupies the hospital bed next to Lee and quickly annoys the doctors treating them both by insisting that Lee has “locked-in” syndrome. After House gets Lee transferred to Princeton Plainsboro, the team is on the case to try to “unlock” him. Meanwhile, Wilson suspects House is hiding something when he refuses to divulge why he was in New York.
Episode 5.20: Simple Explanation
Air Date: March 30, 2009
Charlotte (guest star Colleen Camp), an older woman who has spent the last six months taking care of her dying husband Eddie (guest star Meat Loaf), is rushed to Princeton Plainsboro after collapsing from respiratory failure. The couple becomes a double mystery for the team when Eddie begins to improve as Charlotte’s condition worsens. The previously unthinkable becomes real when it seems that Charlotte will die before Eddie, and the team will be forced to make a difficult decision.
Lisa Edelstein at Pre-Oscar Dinner
February 25, 2009 by Lynn
Here are some photos of Lisa Edelstein that were taken at a private pre-Oscar dinner Celebrating Diamonds in Africa at Chateau Marmont on February 21 in Los Angeles.
What do you think of the outfit she’s wearing in these photos? I hate to admit it, but I’m not a fan of this one. Lisa looks fabulous, as always, but the outfit, not so much…
Jennifer Morrison & Amaury Nolasco Holding Hands
February 25, 2009 by Lynn
Check out this photo of Amaury Nolasco and Jennifer Morrison holding hands in public. I haven’t seen them photographed together holding hands before. This photo was taken as they departing Marc Anthony’s concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Valentine’s Day.
It seems like they must be happy being together. I’m happy for Jennifer that she is in a nice relationship. And it’s cool that both she and Jesse have moved on.
Hugh Laurie Was Master of Ceremonies
February 23, 2009 by Lynn
Yesterday, Hugh Laurie and the rest of the Band From TV were at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Auto Club 500 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA. Hugh Laurie was the Master of Ceremonies for the racing event and here are a couple of photos of him when he announced to the drivers, “Start your engines.” I think it’s cute that they all dressed in very casual clothes for the vent. We don’t get to see them this way very often.
There are also a bunch of photos after the jump where Hugh, Greg Grunberg, James Denton & Jesse Spencer were interviewed at the event too. Band From TV performed there yesterday and I know it was a real treat for the NASCAR fans!
Olivia Wilde on the Ellen Show Today

Today, Ellen viewers got a real treat. House’s own Olivia Wilde was a guest on the show and she revealed some very interesting things about herself.
- For example, did you know that even though she is so thin, she has never lost an eating contest? In fact, she won one by eating 33 pancakes in 20 minutes. OMG!!! She’s a vegan, so the contests have to be non-animal products, but still…
- How about this: did you know that she’s married to an actual Italian prince? She’s a real-life, bonafide princess. Who knew?
- She was also in the step team when she was in high school and she demonstrated her step talent for the audience.
I love this interview! First of all, since I have actually talked to her before, I know that she’s a very warm and fun person. So it didn’t surprise me that she came across that way in this appearance. But her character, Thirteen is very different from who she really is. I know that House fans are mixed in their opineions of Thirteen, but remember that Olivia Wilde is not the character. She’s a very interesting person. Here’s the clip. You’ll see what I mean:

House Episode 5.16 – “The Softer Side” Promo Clips
February 22, 2009 by Lynn

Episode 5.16: The Softer Side
Air Date: February 23, 2009
FOX has released a few spoiler clips to get us excited about Monday’s new episode of House. This is the episode where House tries some new form of treatment to alleviate his pain. There’s some debate about whether it’s heroin or not, but it does look like it’s not having very healthy affects on him.
In this first clip, he stops breathing and his heart nearly stops. Foreman has a surprising way to get him breathing again…
I love this clip. Wilson automatically assumes that the reason House is in a good mood is that he must have had sex with Cuddy. But together they reason through it and Wilson develops a different plan…
