Olivia Wilde & Jack Black in Year One

July 14, 2009 by Lynn

Last month, I asked if anyone who went to see Olivia Wilde’s new movie, Year One could send me an email with their review of it so I could share it with the rest of the House fans. No one sent a review. (Sorry!) The movie certainly did get a lot of buzz, but I haven’t heard much about it. That doesn’t sound very promising, but I hope the flick did well.

But I did find this very cool photo of Olivia Wilde & Jack Black from the movie. I love the sepia tone of the photo and the costumes. And there’s no possible way for Olivia to look less than spectacular.

The film was a huge critical failure. As for box office, Year One is considered a flop. However, it was somewhat profitable. For instance, the film was budgeted at 30 million, it made 38 million. These are not stellar numbers and for a summer film, this is pathetic. Olivia Wilde did very little promotion for the film. (For obvious reasons) Regardless, for her Maxim cover, she is referred to as “Year One’s Olivia Wilde”. That kinda annoyed me. Still, that and the Instyle photoshoot of her home were the extent of her promotion of Year One. Hope this helps.

    Thanks, Danielle!! :-)

Even though Olivia was in it, I’m not sorry I missed seeing it.

  3. Danielle says:

Yeah, it looked really dumb. :-)

It was a really lame movie.
And Olivia did nothing to prove her acting ability, despite how much I like her. She was hardly in the film at all.
