House: Lisa Edelstein Talks About Jennifer Morrison

If you already have been reading the spoilers, you know that Jennifer Morrison who plays Dr. Cameron on House will be leaving during this season. I, for one, will be sorry to see her go. And I had been wondering how her fellow cast members feel about her departure. Here’s a little scoop from Kristin at E! Online that may explain. Very sad.
Cate S.: I’ve been very disappointed to hear the news about Jennifer Morrison leaving House. Is there any hope that this is temporary, and Jen will be back full time?
At this point it seems like Jen might be back for a guest spot or two, but that’s it. Sorry. E! News recently caught up with House costar Lisa Edelstein and apparently we fans weren’t the only ones who were shocked by Morrison’s sudden departure. Lisa told us, “Jennifer is an incredibly gracious, professional, sweet, lovely woman and I hadn’t the faintest idea until I said something really dumb on set because I didn’t know. But I can’t really tell you what I said, because it has to do with a storyline that hasn’t come out yet. But essentially [it was] ‘How come your character keeps leaving and coming back?’ as a joke. I had no idea. I was the last person to know. That’s because she was just so incredibly professional and did her job and never let on to anyone what was going on. It was pretty impressive. She will be missed, I don’t think she’s going to have any trouble, so I’m not worried about her.” [Source: E! Online]
This makes me even more sad – if that’s possible!!
I just really wish we knew the real reason for Jennifer’s departure. “Creative Reasons” are not explanation enough for me. I could think of a million places to take the character of Cameron, and I found her to have so much more depth and personality than any of the others who remain (House excluded). Without knowing their reasons I can’t be a fair judge, but I really think TPTB have made a HUGE mistake!!

Creative reasons????? OMG! Come on! Jennifer i´m your fan, i´ll miss you so much! The fans can´t do anything to avoid it? The producers or directors of this shows seems don´t give nothing for the people who watch the show…. Reallly sad.

but I just hope it’s for the better and they renew the show… (taking off too 13 and taub and if it’s needed placing new, better planned, and way nicer characters that we can really like, like alvie and lucas…)
I wonder if Jennifer knew about this since lastest season reunion with her and Jesse that they told them about what they were planning to see if they agreed… (obviously Jennifer is an actress and she can hide from us acting like nothing happened)
but again, I’m sure she’ll continuing doing great in whatever she’ll choose to do (tv, movies, etc)
Too sad. I feel like a lot of Cameron/Chase fans finally got what they wanted at the VERY end of Season 5 and now they’re not going to get to see very much of it. I’m thoroughly disappointed. Plus I feel like there are no girls on the show anymore-they’re all being killed off or fired or whatever. But I’m sure Cameron will be back-I just wonder if her leaving means Spencer’s leaving or their (extremely premature) divorce? Argh I hope neither!
hey i hear stacey might come back!!!!!i want her to come back just to make cuddy jealous of her and i want house to be jealous of lucas lol. in other words i want stacey to make huddy happen …….if that makes sense

I want Stacy to come back too, but NOT until the end of the series..in about 10 years). Then I want she and House to walk into the sunset and live happily forever! House loves her very much.
About Jen, I just can’t imagine how TPTB could think letting Jen go could be better than letting Taub or 13 go. I just don’t get it. NOW we know why the wedding in the finale last season. Just to pacify the fans. Well, it doesn’t pacify me!
Yeah, Grace, I don’t get it either. Of all the “creative” decisions that could be made re. losing a cast member… keeping 13 and Taub and losing Cameron seems like TV suicide :-S … she’s always been a way more interesting character than them!

Of course there’s more to her leaving than what they’re saying. That’s typical pat response that I’ve read so many times before. Keep your eye on the gossip sights, I imagine that some info will pop up sooner or later. Meanwhile, I hope she goes on to do something wonderful. Best of luck to her!
y doesn’t anyone like taub or 13?…taub is funny and 13 has personality & is hot as hell..what’s the problem?
You think, Ruth? I find it amazing that people either love the new team or hate them – we’re all very divided, aren’t we lol.
I don’t mean to be a character hater, but I’ve always found both 13 and Taub to be fairly dull :-S Maybe it’s because I was used to the dynamic of the original cast but I dunno, I just always found Chase-Cameron-Foreman and House to have a more fresh, funny and engaging dynamic, so each character became more interesting to me. 13 does have her moments, but I tire of her easily, and it doesn’t help that Foreman was always my least favourite of the original cast, so there’s no real spark there for me when I’m watching them, whereas I always liked the Chase and Cameron interaction from episode one and I enjoyed the Cameron-Foreman interchanges which, to me was important because I didn’t really enjoy Foreman’s character but she made him interesting – they were always juxtaposed and yet something about them was oddly similar to me – much the way I felt about them both with House, actually. And that’s part of what’s most important to me on the show. I consider House as a character necessarily defined by his interactions with other people. Individually he’s an interesting, complex person, but it’s his interaction with others that really creates his persona, for me – his oedipal feelings for Cuddy, the unusual but close bond he shares with Wilson, the way he reacts to patients and strangers, and his dynamic with his team. Although Hugh Laurie and the character of House are brilliant, I think we’d all get bored after a season of watching House sitting in a room by himself (maybe after two seasons? haha). I found his relationship with the old team to be really engaging though, and even the survivor game of season 4 was fun, but now that he’s established with a new team, I just find that the relationship and the connection is gone. And I can’t relate to Taub at all – so I find very little enjoyment in watching him, unfortunately. I also don’t think 13 is “hot as hell” – She’s alright, but I think Cameron and Cuddy are both hotter, but of course that’s just me – I’ve never given it that much thought and it has no real bearing on whether or not I watch the show lol. But yeah, 13 is an ok character, I just have a significant preference for Cameron *shrugs*.
ok that was way to much to read Rebecca lol but i personally am not a fan of taub nor 13 but i think they can both be very funny, especially taub. and foreman needed 13. i rest my case. i still think they have become vital to the show.

Of all the supporting cast, I like Jennifer and Lisa the best. I am sorry to see Jennifer leave, and am anxious to find out more about why.
Why is a character leaving again? I don’t think this is ‘creative’ at all.
Kutner didn’t really interest me, but Cameron is a nice person.
They also promised us there would be more Chameron.
And what about the marriage, aren’t there enough relationproblems?
I’ll hope they cancel this plans. Otherwise I’ll hope Jennifer can play in great movies and/or tv-shows.
ya’ll r funny…taub has some pretty good comebacks and 13 isn’t a namby pamby do-gooder who can’t deal with “immoral” issues like camerom was.I would like to have seen some sort of house/cameron flirtation continuation, but oh well,life goes on.I don’t care to over-evaluate episodes like some of y’all do.(and no i am not from the south)…lol..:)
i actually like the whole cast equally they all have really different and unique personalities. i take a special interest in cuddy for some reson. id like to see more of a storyline for her. i really noticed how lisa edelsteins character really is when she shot some seans with robert sean leonard in season 5. and of couse scenes with house…….shes also one of the most gorgeous women i have ever seen.

I will miss Cameron so much. The show just won’t be the same without her. As for 13 and Taub – I like 13 too but never grew as attached to her as to Cameron. I have nothing against Taub, but I barely noticed he wasn’t there the past 3 episodes. He is just a little dull, doesn’t add much to the show. In any case, this is becoming too many people leaving – Taub, Cameron…I wonder is Chase is gonna be written out too now with the whole Dibala story line (I love the storyline but I dont want Chase to have to go in the end!) I guess they’ll probably bring 13 back after all. But sucks about Cameron!!
Yes, I am also disappointed Jennifer is leaving the show. But in my opinion the show went downhill the moment they deviated from the original team. Some of the “selection” of the replacements episodes were good. But once the original team ceased being a fixture I lost interest. I still watch out of habit wishing they would restore Spencer, Epps, Morrison to their rightful places. But alas it is not to be. This will probably be the last season. It was fun while it lasted. I’m a re-run fanatic. I hope they can all retire on their residuals from the re-runs.
for some reason i was never all that fanatic about Cameron.I find myself liking 13 much better.She’s much hotter and alot more feisty.She can toe to toe with the boys …oh..and she’s hot…lol
