Thanks so much to House is Right reader Greg for the heads up on this item! Not only has Hugh Laurie been nominated fro a Golden Globe, but he was also nominated for the coveted Annie Award for his voice acting of the character Dr. Cockroach in Monsters vs. Aliens. Woo-hoo! This is his first nomination, in spite of the fact that he’s done a number of voice roles in the past. How cool!

Here are all the Annie Awards nominations in his category:

Voice Acting in a Feature Production

  • Jen Cody – Voice of Charlotte – “The Princess and the Frog” — Walt Disney Animation Studios
  • Dawn French – Voice of Miss Forcible – “Coraline” — Laika
  • Hugh Laurie – Voice of Dr. Cockroach Ph.D. – “Monsters vs. Aliens” — DreamWorks Animation
  • John Leguizamo – Voice of Sid – “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaur” — Blue Sky Studios
  • Jenifer Lewis - Voice of Mama Odie – “The Princess and the Frog” — Walt Disney Animation Studios

I’ve also updated his profile page to reflect his new nominations.

Always glad to be of service! ;-) I really hope he makes it. I need to find the time to watch MVA again on DVD. Hugh was really great! Still is and always will be, though! I hope they do a sequel and he’ll be back doing it again! Keep your fingers crossed…
