Omar Epps Talks About House’s Team in Season 6

July 9, 2009 by Lynn

Omar Epps, who plays Foreman on House, talked at the Paley Center a bit about how House’s breakdown will affect the team. He gives some insight into Foreman’s reaction and whether he will take the helm of the team in House’s absence.

Omar also gives us his take on what to expect between Foreman & Thirteen next season. I like his description of the two characters. He too tells us how he is different with his own doctor now that he’s on the show.

Robert Sean Leonard Talks About Wilson & House

July 7, 2009 by Lynn

House star Robert Sean Leonard, who plays House’s best friend Wilson, talked a bit at the Paley Center about how Wilson & House’s friendship was tested last season. He explains why Wilson keeps putting up with House, in spite of his behavior.

I also love what he has to say about the down side of going to see a real doctor now that he is so well known from the show. And his take on his own character is very interesting to me. He sees Wilson a bit differently than most of his viewers do. See what I mean:

Lisa Edelstein Talks About House Season 6

July 6, 2009 by Lynn

Here’s a revealing clip with Lisa Edelstein telling us what she liked most about the season 5 finale of House. She thinks it’s great that the Huddy hook-up was a hallucination and she gives two reasons why. I agree! It leaves a lot to still look forward to!

Lisa goes on to tell us what she has learned about the medical field from working on the show and how it has changed the way she can talk to doctors in the real world.

Hugh Laurie Gives Teasers for House Season 6

July 5, 2009 by Lynn

This is a quick interview that Hugh Laurie did in conjunction with the cast’s appearance at the Paley Center recently. In it, he tells us a bit about House’s new roommate in the mental institution and what he may have to do about him. It’s so cute. I think you’ll enjoy it. :-)

Hugh also tells us that there will be a very slight musical element in the coming season premiere and I love his remark about how he probably shouldn’t be doing it. Enjoy:

House Presentation at the Paley Center

There’s a very comprehensive play-by-play account of the evening’s House discussion at the Paley Center last night at The Futon Critic, so I won’t re-write the entire thing. I do encourage you to go read the entire account. It’s wonderful.

I do want to share a couple of my favorite quotes from the evening, though. This first one is Hugh Laurie’s trademark wit:

When asked about House’s trip to the loony bin at the end of this season. “It’s all drawn heavily on my personal life,” Hugh quips.

SPOILER ALERT!!

Here’s a quote from David Shore about the beginning of season 6:

When asked why the season premiere will pick up shortly after the finale wrapped instead of the usual three month or so gap: “We don’t want to shake things up for the sake of shaking things up,” David says. “We just want to keep exploring this character… we’re just seeing where his life progresses and where it goes. And the end of last year obviously we did something that felt natural and real to me but is very extreme and we want to be as true to that as we can and follow up on that. So we are doing, Katie’s going to be directing a two-hour season premiere, which is basically a movie which basically follows House through that institution. And it takes place over a much longer period of time than we’re used to. And [it's about] his life in there, his search for getting better.”

And this quote is for the Huddy fans. To me, it’s hard to imagine House & Cuddy not having that chemistry, but here’s what David Shore said about it:

When asked about when the Cuddy/House ball started rolling: “Very early on,” David says. “No matter what we wrote, the two of them had this odd sexual tension. And that’s been something we’ve been nurturing and trying to explore from day one.” As for their imaginary hook-up: “I think it was significant even though it turned out not to be real. It was very significant - we got an insight into House’s subconscious.”

There’s also some of what was said to the press at The Press Association. My favorite quote from this aricle is from Lisa Edelstein:

“He’s a sexy man, he’s eight feet tall, his eyes are like ice blue, he’s extremely intelligent, really talented, what’s not sexy about Hugh Laurie?!”

I agree with her completely! Now I absolutely can’t wait for Season 6 to begin!!!

House Cast Members at Paley Center

June 18, 2009 by Lynn

Along with Hugh Laurie, the Paley Center had some of the other House cast members appear last night to talk about the creative process for the show.

Here are some photos of Lisa Edelstein, Omar Epps and Robert Sean Leonard from the event. RSL rarely makes appearances, so it’s a real pleasure to find photos of him there too!

Hugh Laurie at the Paley Center

June 18, 2009 by Lynn

As we found out a couple of days ago, Hugh Laurie was at the Paley Center last night along with Katie Jacobs & David Shore to talk about the creative process that goes into the making of House.

I’m really sad that I couldn’t be there, but know that it had to be an amzing evening. I’ll follow this post with one that tells us all about the presentation, but I thought you would love to see some photos of Hugh Laurie that were taken at the event. Yes, he’s still got the beard, but he had it trimmed down short last night:

Hugh Laurie to Speak at Paley Center

House fans in the Los Angeles area, take note! Hugh Laurie, along with House executive producers David Shore and Katie Jacobs will be speaking to press and fans at the Paley Center this Wednesday evening. I absolutely love the way LA Around Town describes Hugh:

After all, Mr. Laurie gives the sparklingest of sparkling acceptance speeches at various award shows. He was one half of that fizzy, funny, debonair duo Fry & Laurie (not to mention an unfailingly chipper Bertie Wooster). And he starred with Rowan Atkinson on “Blackadder,” which is the best history-based history sitcom in history.

The topic of the event is the creative process for creating House. It will probably be a fascinating presentation and since it’s very affordable, House fans should try to make it if at all possible. All the details are available on the Paley Center site. You can also buy tickets here.

[Thanks so much to Grace for the tip!]

Hugh Laurie Outside Ed Sullivan Theater

April 13, 2009 by Lynn

As you know, recently, Hugh Laurie was a guest on Late Show With David Letterman to promote his new movie Monsters vs. Aliens. And as usually happens, the paparazzi were hanging out outside the Ed Sullivan Theater to snap photos of the guest stars as they arrived. These are the photos taken of Hugh when he arrived to be on the show. He looked amazing, as always, don’t you think?

Hugh Laurie Interview This Morning!

March 29, 2009 by Lynn

I awoke to a really fun surprise this morning! I have told my TiVo all of my favorite actors and it just recorded a show this morning for me that I wasn’t expecting. (I just love my trusty TiVo!) The show was a movie review show called Lions & Bailes Reel Talk. The guest that was interviewed on this morning’s show was Hugh Laurie, there to talk about his role as Dr. Cockroach in Monsters vs. Aliens. I immediately went to the web site and grabbed the clip of the interview for you.

Hugh says that he’s happy that Dr. Cockroach has a British accent, so he can relax and do the voice without having to Americanize it. He also talks about how he manages to keep his performance on the show fresh for each episode. You’ll love the fact that he jokes about House being loosely based on Clint Eastwood’s portrayal of The Man With No Name from the old westerns. And that Clint Eastwood tries to emulate House in all of his performances…LOL! Then they discuss what he misses the most about working in the US vs. in the UK. And stay tuned until the end where they discuss the possibilities of his novel The Gun Seller being made into a movie!
