New Jersey House Fans, Listen Up!

Fans of House that live in New Jersey may know about a location where House filmed this week. It’s an old, abandoned mental hospital there called Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital in Parsippany, NJ. The House crew was there yesterday to film lots of background scenes and other B-roll for use in the series during season 6. So when the season 6 episodes begin, NJ viewers will need to keep an eye open for the local shots. How cool!

That tells me that Wilson’s brother will play into things next season. We’ve been introduced to the idea of Wilson’s schizophrenic, formerly homeless brother who is now in a mental hospital, but it looks like we’ll get to see it more next season.

Or, there is an even more fascinating possibility too. Since we’ve been told that House himself is headed for a breakdown, will it be him that’s a patient in the hospital…? Here’s an excerpt from the article on the local New Jersey news web site:

Shoot Information:
The massive old Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital is “open” for business again, and its top doctor may be Hugh Laurie, star of TV’s “House.”

Crews from the popular Fox TV show spent today re-making the abandoned state hospital in Parsippany into the fictional Mayfield Psychiatric Hospital. They are expected to shoot some background scenes for next year’s episodes of the popular series Wednesday morning.

Officials from Universal Studios were tight-lipped about their plans at Greystone and whether any stars of the show might be on hand today. They said the set would be closed to the public. Police also said the road leading to the hospital would be temporarily closed.

Steve Gorelick, executive director of the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission, also had little to say about the show’s filming today.

What do you think this means for the show? I’d love to hear your thoughts!!!

House: Episode 5.21 - “Saviors” Spoiler Photos

House Spoilers

Episode 5.21: Saviors
Air Date: April 13, 2009

Here are the latest spoiler photos for House. These are from the upcoming episode Saviors, and it looks like we’ll get to see a lot of Cameron in this episode! She’ll be bringing a new case to House and the team, but House is skeptical of her real motives.

Some of you have seen these photos and concluded that it’s Kutner that does himself in because he’s not in any of them. I don’t feel that these photos are an indication of anything. Most episodes’ promo photos don’t show all the cast members. Although I’m just like the rest of you, wishing I knew more about who to expect, we all just have to wait and see it when it happens…

Cameron (Jennifer Morrison, L) brings a case to House (Hugh Laurie, C) and the team (L-R: Omar Epps, Olivia Wilde and Peter Jacobson) in the HOUSE episode “Saviors” airing Monday, April 13 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

OMG, OMG, OMG!! A Lead Character is Going to Die on House!!

March 20, 2009 by Lynn

House Spoilers

[Photo: © 2009 FOX Broadcasting Co.]

I just read this an nearly had a heart attack! According to the spoiler gurus, there will be a death of one of the lead characters on House before the season ends! I am so bewildered about who it can be and upset at the possibilities! First, Here are the spoilers from the various sources.

Kristin at E! Online gives us this:

A main character will die this season.

This is the news I’m now hearing from reliable sources on House, that one of the cast members will be written out before the current season ends.

And trust me, it will shock the pants off of you. (Assuming you are wearing pants.)

So who will it be?

Obviously, we can’t come right out and report who will die because that would spoil a major plotpoint that will serve as the climax of the season. And honestly, it is far too good to spoil!

However, I can tell you:

  1. It’s not the most likely candidate–not by a longshot.
  2. It’s not someone who has been rumored to be leaving.
  3. It is someone who will shock you.
  4. How it happens will take you completely by surprise.
  5. There is no lead up to this death, it just…happens.

As House boss Katie Jacobs told us recently: “I think our cast will look pretty much the same next season.” The emphasis there is on pretty much, and it’s my understanding that it will be just one cast member to leave. Everyone else will be back in the fall. [Source: E! Online]

And not to be outdone, Michael Ausiello at EW gives us this:

House Will Go on a Date With Who???

February 19, 2009 by Lynn

House Spoilers

The is a two-part spoiler. The first part is more of a teaser, when Michael Ausiello says that the other drug House will take that changes his personality and takes away his pain is NOT heroin, as had been rumored. (Thank goodness!)

The even more interesting second part is that House will be going on a date….with Wilson!!! What!!?? I have to tell the truth that the first thing that sprang into my mind was something from Hugh’s old Fry & Laurie days when they both dressed as women…but I can’t imagine House or Wilson doing that. There has to be some sort of catch. What are your thoughts?

Spoiler:
Question: So, how exactly is House going to make his pain magically disappear next week? — Reina
Ausiello: He switches to a new drug — and no, it’s not heroin. But that’s not the big news, this is: House and Wilson go on a date! [Source: EW]

Is Cutthroat Bitch Coming Back to “House”?

January 28, 2009 by Lynn

Anne Dudek

I know it seems impossible since we saw her die in the season 4 finale of House, but Michael Ausiello tells us that Anne Dudek, aka Amber or Cutthroat Bitch (CTB) may be returning somehow to House.

As a person who quit watching Grey’s Anatomy about the time the goofy ghost aspect started, I truly hope it won’t be anything like that. But how can they make a completely dead character come back to the show? The way I see it, there could be a few options for them:

  • She could be a part of flashbacks for Wilson or House. It’s pretty convoluted, but if it was done properly, it might work…as long as they don’t overwork the whole thing. I don’t want to see a dozen flashbacks per episode!
  • We could find that CTB has an even more evil twin sister who could somehow join the cast to torture House and/or Wilson. I rather like this idea. There are so many things that could be different this time. House might be the one she falls for and it could make the Cuddy dynamic strained… There are just so many possibilities with this option.
  • They could do the cheesy ghost idea, but I think we would all have a fit and protest…
  • On a more ridiculous note, House could come out of a coma induced during the season finale and find that it’s all been a bad dream…this was awful when they did it on the series Dallas years ago. I hope they don’t go this direction. I’ll be truly upset.
  • She could show up as a CTB doppleganger. In other words, a person looking exactly like Amber, but in no way related to her or even aware of her existence. This seems like a real stretch and I hope they don’t do it.

What are some scenarios you can think of? Do you want to see CTB return if they can think of a credible way to do it? Or do you think it’s just too contrived to even consider? Let us know!

More House Spoilers

August 14, 2008 by Lynn

house-spoiler-template.jpg

TV Guide’s Mickey O’Connor gives us a couple of new spoiler nuggets for House in season 5. They aren’t huge, but I hope you find them interesting anyway:

At House’s TCA session all I saw was Hugh Laurie, Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps and the “new team.” Does that mean that Jennifer Morrison (Cameron) and Jesse Spencer (Chase) are no longer part of the show? — Kerry
Mickey: Very observant, Kerry, but I’m told their absence is not significant. Both Morrison and Spencer remain series regulars. In fact, an upcoming ep promises to shed new light on the couple.

Any romantic relationships for Dr. House this season? — Stephanie
Mickey: There’s a rumor that he and Cuddy will stop circling and start canoodling this season, but you didn’t hear it from me!

More Insight From Lisa Edelstein

May 12, 2008 by Lynn

Lisa EdelsteinThe conversation with Lisa Edelstein was quite long, so I’ve broken it up for you a bit so the pages will load better. (I don’t want you to miss anything!) In this portion, she gives us even more hints about where the characters on House are going and what’s in store for us. (She even tells us what the cast knows about the spin-off rumors!)

Q: What do you think that House thinks of Cuddy? Do you think he loves her like she loves him?

L. Edelstein: I think he’s attracted to her. I think he likes her smarts. I’m not sure House is capable of love the way other people are. I think he’s so disconnected to himself in that way that it would be impossible for him to truly be able to connect to somebody else. I mean, I think he loves Cuddy and I think he loves Wilson, but I don’t know that it would be in the same way they love him.

Q: I’ve asked this question of David Shore before too, what do you think drives House? Because I’ve always thought he can’t truly be as disconnected and unempathetic as he plays, although Shore sort of says, yes, actually he is, but what do you think?

L. Edelstein: Well, I’d have to agree with David. I think that he has become so disconnected through his pain and his treatment of his pain and his anger at the world that he finds the connection in the puzzle more than in the people. And he’s so smart that he sees past everyone’s bull**** to such a degree that people become uninteresting to him.

Q: Do you think all of that, though, ends up not just disconnecting Cuddy and Wilson to him, but also us as viewers? I just think that’s always such an interesting dichotomy that you’re like, here’s this really non-empathetic person, but you feel connected to him?

INTERVIEW: Lisa Edelstein Talks About What’s in Store for ‘House’

May 12, 2008 by Lynn

Lisa EdelsteinI’m thrilled to report that I got to take part in a conference call interview with none other than Lisa Edelstein herself, aka Cuddy! She’s a delightfully cheerful and charming person and her warmth comes across loud and clear on the phone. I think the only thing more exciting would have been to be in the same room with her as she answered the questions.

She had a lot to say about what we can expect in the two-part season four finale of House, and also in the beginning of season five. She also gives us a lot of insight into the character of Cuddy and that of House. Here’s what was discussed:

Question: So, as the season began, knowing that there was a whole group of new doctors coming in, did you have concerns as to how Cuddy was going to fit in with the sort of remixed version of the show?

Lisa Edelstein: I felt the least affected. I think both Wilson and I felt the least affected by that. Certainly you wonder how they’re going to manage to give any of us anything to do with so many characters on a show, but they seem to have managed. It’s really the same structure where you have the inner workings of the case and then the B and C stories of what’s happening amongst the personalities of the main characters, and it’s been great. It’s a wonderful new group of people, and they have shown up with lots of excitement and eagerness, and they have great attitudes. So it’s been a wonderful experience.

Q: Do you sense movement in Cuddy’s character in recent seasons? Do you sort of see a place that she’s going from here?

L. Edelstein: I do. I really think that her character has been filled out and that her relationship with House has become a beautiful, complicated, adult relationship filled with all kinds of subliminal messages. And it’s fun to play, and even when they don’t write it, I put it in.

Q: How much of that subliminal stuff is you and how much is the writers?
