According to IMDb, this film is due to be released on July 7, 2009. I haven’t heard anything about it yet, but will let you know what I find out. Here’s the info that IMDb has about it:

A Day in the Life …. O (2009/II)

Kal Penn Has Films Coming Out Soon

In season 5 of House, Kal Penn’s character died, so we know he won’t be back on House (unless there are more hallucinations of him in store.) When he talked to us the day after Kutner’s death, he said ther would be no more Kumar movies to come because he’ll be working at the White House and won’t have time to film any more movies. So I have serious doubts about the reality of the Harold & Kumar movie still listed as in production at IMDb. But here are the movies with Kal Penn and one TV Pilot that are due out soon. He has already completed his work on them, so it shouldn’t interfere with his work.

A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas (in development)
Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain …. Motwani 2009 (post-production)
Under New Management …. Wheeler 2009 (completed)
“The Call” …. Ian

Pilot (2010) TV episode
(1 episode, 2010)

The movie Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain might be a major film since Kal will star along with Mischa Barton & Martin Sheen. Here’s a synopsis:

Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain: Interwoven stories of people in India and US as they face dilemmas of life time in the months leading to the biggest Industrial disaster in human history that claimed 10,000 innocent lives within a few hours. Inspired by real events.

Under New Management looks like it’s a comedy from the plot summary:

Under New Management: Two co-workers send their boss on a sex cruise and then turn office into party central, causing profits to soar in the process.

I’ll keep you informed if I hear any more about any of these.

Olivia Wilde is Filming This Summer Too

Olivia Wilde may play thirteen on House, but she’s also an accomplished movie actress. For example, she was in the recently released movie Year One and now she’s got two new movies that are scheduled to be out soon. Here’s the IMDb info about them:

TRON 2.0 2011 (filming)
In NorthWood …. Mia 2009 (completed)

In Northwood has a slightly ironic ring to it for me. Here’s the plot overview:

In NorthWood: A redemption tale centering on a man condemned to a mental hospital for committing murder.

TRON 2.0 looks like a bigger movie because the other stars in the cast include Jeff Bridges, John Hurt & Bruce Boxleitner. Hey, every virtual-world type of movie needs a super-sexy character, right? Here’s what the story line looks like:

TRON 2.0: A virtual-world worker looks to take down the Master Control Program.

Jesse Spencer, who plays Dr. Chase on House, is also rumored to have a movie in the works too. Here’s what IMDB says about it:

The Storyteller …. Jim (2009/I) (pre-production) (rumored)

There’s not a lot of information about the film just yet, except that one of the other stars is reprotedly Katherine McPhee. I’ll let you know any details that may be released about it.

Jennifer Morrison is Spending Her Summer Filming a Movie

Even though she played Captain Kirk’s mother in the latest Star Trek movie this year already, House star Jennifer Morrison is currently filming a new movie and has one that’s scheduled to be out later this year. She’s a very busy lady! Here’s what IMDb has to say about her two latest projects:

Warrior …. Tess Conlon 2010 (filming)
Table for Three …. Leslie 2009

I’m guessing that Jennifer is not one of the three main characters in Table for Three just because of the placement for her name in the IMDB listing. Here’s the overview of the plot, though:

Table for Three: A suddenly single guy invites what he thinks is a perfect couple to move into his apartment, only to discover they quickly insert themselves into all aspects of his life.

In Warrior, she has the top placement in the list of actors, but I’m guessing that she’s not one of the fighters. ;-) This may be a bigger part for her and she will share the screen with Nick Nolte, so it’s likely to be a bigger name movie. Here’s the synopsis:

Warrier: The youngest son (Hardy) of an alcoholic former boxer (Nolte) returns home, where he’s trained by his father for competition in a mixed martial arts tournament — a path that puts the fighter on a collision corner with his older brother (Edgerton).

As many of you already know, House star Olivia Wilde is in the new movie The Year One that opens in US theaters tomorrow. She’s in good company, because Jack Black, Michael Cera, Oliver Platt and Hank Azaria are also among the cast members. It’s supposed to be a comedic look at a modern stone age….

Now, I have to be 100% honest with you, this just isn’t my type of movie. But I want my readers to know about the film and how well Olivia Wilde plays her part in it. So here’s my request for you:

If you go to see The Year One, please write a 3-4 paragraph review and send it to me via email. Be sure to include a couple of sentences about you and a photo of your face for it. I’ll post the very best reviews on this site and will gladly add links to your own web site or blog with your review.

As always, there have to be a few rules. So here they are:

  • Review must be in English (sorry, but I must ask.)
  • Length should be 3-4 paragraphs long
  • No profanity, rudeness or discriminatory statements allowed
  • In order to be eligible for posting here, you must include information about you and a photo of yourself.
  • All text submitted must be original…no copying from other sites.
  • Review must be sent to me no later than Thursday, June 25th.

Here’s your big chance to be a published movie critic!! We all want to read your review, so be sure to go see Year One and send me your review!

Hugh Laurie Interview Clip for Monsters vs. Aliens

March 27, 2009 by Lynn

I found this terrific short interview with Hugh Laurie about working on Monsters vs. Aliens. The interviewer is the host of Talking Pictures, Tony Toscano and together they discuss the unusual acting process of recording a voice for an animated character. For example, even if the character has to do something as simple as shake their fist, the voice has to convey shaking a fist. It sounds more difficult than regular acting to me, but what do I know? ;-)

And stay with it until the end, because Hugh answers a question about the big events the last few episodes of the season are leading up to. (Namely, the show character’s death…)

Hugh Laurie Interviewed on the Premiere Red Carpet

March 26, 2009 by Lynn

Earlier, I posted some photos that were taken of Hugh Laurie on the red carpet at the premiere for his new animated movie Monsters vs. Aliens where he voiced the character Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D. But Hugh not only had photos taken, he also stopped to chat a bit with several interviewers. In this first clip, he tells why he likes to work as a voice for animated movies. He has several reasons, but the last one is hilarious!

And here, he tells what the most fun part was when working on the part of Dr. Cockroach. He says that he got to unleash his “inner crazy person.” LOL!

Hugh Laurie at the Premiere of Monsters vs. Aliens

March 26, 2009 by Lynn

Hugh Laurie seemed to have a fun time with the photographers on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of the movie Monsters vs. Aliens. The animated movie that features Hugh voicing the character of Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D. has been talked about a lot and even though I have yet to see it, I’m sure Hugh makes the cockroach’s character totally believeable.

The fun part of all these photos (12 of them) is that Hugh has so many different expressions. I’ve talked before about how he can create so many different emotions and expressions with his ruggedly handsome face. He’s amazing. Any time we get to see photos of him, he gives us so many different looks. And I thought you’d enjoy the close-up of those baby-blues…

Hugh Laurie on David Letterman Show Last Night

March 24, 2009 by Lynn

Last night, Hugh Laurie was a guest on the Late Show With David Letterman. As always, he was hilarious, gracious and gorgeous. Here’s the interview and you just have to watch for his hysterically funny story about taking the cab in New York to the hotel. LOL!

He also talks a bit about his being honored by the Queen and about being chosen to play a cockroach:

Do they have this cockroach and say Hugh Laurie is perfect for the part? Or do they think of Hugh and ask what kind of character should he be? That’s it! A cockroach! …either way is bad. LOL!!
