Hugh Laurie’s best friend Stephen Fry has written a book called Stephen Fry in America: Fifty States and the Man Who Set Out to See Them All. If we know anything about Stephen, we know that the book will be very intelligently written and will include a fair amount of great humor. What’s not to love?
Since Monday night will not give us a new episode of House, fans of the show will have the evening free to go meet and get an autographed copy of Stephen’s book. Unfortunately, only the folks living in and near the …read more

Hugh Laurie’s best friend and former comedy partner Stephen Fry was recently asked if he would ever consider becoming a citizen of the United States. He said that he would be “honored”…”if they would have me.” LOL!
The Cambridge graduate, who lives in North London, toured the U.S. in a black London taxi for his BBC series, Stephen Fry in America.
At an awards ceremony in Los Angeles, Fry said he was searching for a home in the city to be near his friend and former comedy partner Hugh Laurie and had been encouraged by talking to Craig Ferguson, …read more
Fry & Laurie Give Halloween Instructions
November 2, 2009 by Lynn
Thanks so much to House fan Grace for this tip! Most Hugh Laurie fans know that long before he played our favorite grumpy doctor, he was half of a hilarious comedy duo with his best friend Stephen Fry in the UK. The pair called themselves Fry & Laurie. Most of their comedy work is classic, along the lines of the Monty Python comedy troupe.
In this clip from their days together in the UK, they give very “helpful” instructions for Brits to know how to handle the odd holiday of Halloween.
Stephen Fry Witnesses Very Rare Mating Ritual
Many thanks to House is Right reader Grace for sending the tip about this great video clip!! It’s hilarious!!
Hugh Laurie’s best friend, Stephen Fry was working with zoologist Mark Carwardine to find one of the world’s rarest birds when the bird fell in love with the zoologist. The poor bird tried his best to mate with Mr. Carwardine’s neck and Stephen is standing by to give his commentary. Stay with the clip until the end to hear what Stephen had to say.

I’m a day late wishing Hugh Laurie’s best friend Stephen Fry a Happy 52nd Birthday. I hope his day was wonderful.
He and Hugh have been pals since they were young and have had several runs with comedy series together in the UK. Besides, he’s wonderful in every part he plays and is one of the most interesting people ever to follow on Twitter.
Happy Birthday Stephen!
Stephen Fry is Looking Fabulous!!
June 22, 2009 by Lynn
Hugh Laurie’s BFF (Best Friend Forever) Stephen Fry was recently interviewed by Daily Mail where he revealed his new, svelt self. After turning himself into a regular visitor at his gym and changing his eating habits, he’s lost over 60 pounds. He looks wonderful, don’t you think?
But the interview covers much more about Fry than his fabulous weight loss. He also says that he would love to be able to play a guest part as a doctor alongside Hugh Laurie on House. I think that would be fantastic!!!

Hugh Laurie is Sporting the Scruffy Look
June 2, 2009 by Lynn
Hugh Laurie is wearing a full beard and looks very casual in this photo snapped of him in LAX on Thursday. He looks quite relaxed and I say, “Good for him!” I think he looks great, no matter what!

On a different note, he was recently asked about his feelings for Twitter, the online social networking site. His best friend Stephen Fry is a great fan of Twitter and many of us enjoy following him. (@StephenFry)
Hugh is very philosophical about the 140 characters maximum for each Twitter message.
“I think if people were able to take these 140 characters and …read more
A Bit of Classic Fry & Laurie
January 29, 2009 by Lynn
Thanks to Betsy for the tip about this hilarious bit from early in Hugh Laurie’s career. In the UK, everyone knows that Stephen Fry, who is one of Hugh Laurie’s closest friends to this day, used to be his comedy partner and they had a show called A Bit of Fry & Laurie. During those years, the two performed tons of comic bits and I put one out here every now and then for you to enjoy. This one is new to me. They were guests on another show that I’m not familiar with. I hope you enjoy this Piano …read more

December 23, 2008 by Lynn
Paparazzi caught Hugh Laurie’s close friend Stephen Fry and a companion at LAX on December 14. I wonder if he could have been in town to work, or to visit Hugh…? I hope they got a chance to get together while he was in town.

Fry & Laurie Tackle Linguistic Conundrums
August 24, 2008 by Lynn
Linguistic elasticity…who else would have a comedy bit based on such a subject but Fry & Laurie? In this very funny clip, Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry take a look at language. They humorously attempt to answer this question:
Is our English language, as we know it, capable of sustaining demagoguery?
Hugh Laurie’s “translations” are fabulous! You have to watch to understand how funny it is:
