Review of Hugh Laurie on SNL

OK, Tonight’s episode just ended, and I’d give it a B-minus. Hugh was in about a half dozen skits, and while I wasn’t taking notes, here are my thoughts.
I suspect he wrote his own monologue, and it suffered a little cross-cultural confusion. He told a Shakespeare joke that went completely over the head of the audience including me.
The highlight was his protect song on guitar and harmonica. Sing with me: “All we have to do is mmm… mmm… mmm….”

Don’t forget: Hugh Laurie is on Saturday Night Live tonight, and we’ve got new episodes of House starting again on Tuesday, October 31st.
David Shore Writing Cop Drama for NBC
Michael Schneider reports that NBC Universal TV Studio has signed House creator David Shore and House writer Peter Blake to develop a new as-yet-untitled drama for the NBC network. The show is expected to center on a female cop and will involve an ensemble cast. Shore and Blake will also be executive producers on the project.

We’ve still got a year or two before we need to check our local listings, but House has already been sold into syndication. From Star Pulse:
Universal Domestic Television Distribution has sold hit drama series House to local broadcast stations in more than 80 percent of the country starting in fall 2008. The Golden Globe winner and critically acclaimed series will air on weekends in national syndication.
