Here are some preview clips that FOX has released for tomorrow night’s season 5 finale of House. Last week, after a ton of buildup, the hookup scene between House & Cuddy lasted all of about 10 seconds. *sigh* It is prime time after all…

In this first clip, we see that Cuddy seems freaked out by the occurrence and she’s trying to put House back at arms’ length. (It may be interesting to find out how long House will let that last.)

Of course, House can’t wait to tell his BFF about his romantic interlude with Cuddy. Wilson’s reaction is priceless:

This is so fun! It’s a bit of a preview of Carl Reiner’s character on the show. I wonder what fascinating ailment causes one to “Caw!”

On the one hand, I’m excited to see tomorrow’s episode of House. On the other hand, I’m sad that it’s the last one this season and we’ll have to wait a while to see more new ones….

Episode 5.20: Simple Explanation

To help you to get ready for tonight’s episode of House, here’s a review of all the spoiler info for it. It’s going to involve a husband and wife who are both patients, the husband being played by musician/actor Meat Loaf.

The team finds out that the husband has not been a very loving or affectionate man to his wife of 30 years, so when her condition worsens, he tells them to give her his liver as a way to make it up to her….even though giving her his entire liver will kill him. Wow! This will definitely be intense!

Today, FOX released new information about the next four new episodes of House. They give us a little bit of the plot for each of them and it looks like we’re in for some really terrific now House episodes!

There’s the patient who is as insulting as House and makes him look at his own behavior. And there’s the woman who swears that a cat has predicted her death. We’ll see House in a motorcycle accident and he is in the hospital bed next to a patient played by guest star Mos Def. And believe it or not, Meatloaf will be a guest star! There’s a lot to look forward to! Check it out:

Episode 5.17: The Social Contract
Air Date: March 9, 2009

House and the team take on the case of Nick (guest star Jay Karnes), a book editor who starts hurling insults at coworkers during a dinner party. Nick’s frontal lobe inhibition causes him to vocalize all of his innermost thoughts, resulting in extremely shocking outbursts directed at his family and the doctors trying to cure him. Meanwhile, House suspects that Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) and Taub (Peter Jacobson) are keeping something from him after he catches them both in a lie.

Episode 5.18: Here Kitty
Air Date: March 16, 2009

Nursing-home worker Morgan (guest star Judy Greer) fakes sick to get House’s attention after the home’s pet cat sleeps next to her. It seems that the cat only pays a visit to people if they are about to die – and does so with alarming accuracy. While House dismisses Morgan as a nut job, he is intrigued by her theory on the kiss-of-death cat, and sets out to disprove it. When Morgan falls seriously ill, he and the team are forced to get to the bottom of both mysteries.

Episode 5.19: Locked In
Air Date: March 23, 2009

In a special episode of HOUSE, shot and told predominantly from the perspective of a patient, Mos Def guest-stars as Lee, a man who awakens in New York after a bicycle accident unable to move or communicate in any way. House, himself injured in a motorcycle mishap, occupies the hospital bed next to Lee and quickly annoys the doctors treating them both by insisting that Lee has “locked-in” syndrome. After House gets Lee transferred to Princeton Plainsboro, the team is on the case to try to “unlock” him. Meanwhile, Wilson suspects House is hiding something when he refuses to divulge why he was in New York.

On the other hand, Kristin at EW gives us some info about Wilson’s brother that is a bit intriguing. It seems the specualtion about who will play the brother was all wrong. And thank goodness we’ll get to see more of Kal Penn and his character Kutner. I’ve been waiting and waiting for more depth on that character. I like Penn and look forward to seeing him featured more prominently. And I guess the issue with having a child (or not) will become problematic for Taub and his wife. Good stuff!

Maya in Milford, Del.: Any truth to the rumor that Ethan Hawke or Campbell Scott are being cast as Wilson’s homeless brother on House?

None whatsoever. I caught up with House executive producers Katie Jacobs and David Shore, and they firmly debunked both those casting rumors. Katie says, “Wilson does have this brother, and David has just written a beautiful episode where that comes into play again.” Any thoughts on who the brother should be? I vote for Kyle Bornheimer. Worst Week’s season finale is coming up, and there’s a resemblance, right?

How about the other two new kids then? Kal Penn (who just got back from Obama’s inauguration) tells me, “[Kutner] does have an arc this season—you’ll see him more at home, with the giant bowl of cereal, for example, and we’ll see how the thing with his parents affects him,” and Peter Jacobsen tells me, “There’s trouble in paradise with Taub’s marriage. Nothing too drastic at the moment, but there’s difficulties looming.” [Source: EW]

You have to hand it to that Michael Ausiello. He always seems to give us spoilers, thinly veiled as crap. He’s a master at telling us things without really telling us anything…

Question: I heard a character might be leaving House at the end of the season. I’m scared it might be Cuddy. — Maude

Ausiello: Though exec producer Katie Jacobs played dumb when I asked her about the rumored departure at press tour, Cuddy ain’t goin’ nowhere. Trust me. That’s not to say that there aren’t big changes ahead. Hugh Laurie teased, “House undergoes some pretty traumatic stuff in the last half of the season. Not physical but mental. They have lined it up for something fairly cataclysmic, but not, cataclysmic just for the sake of being disastrous, and not just to end the season on a crazy note.” So Marcia Cross isn’t gonna blow up the hospital? Er, no. “Stuff doesn’t blow up,” he promises. “I hope we never blow things up, ever. This event is sort of contained within House’s head, [but] it is exciting.” [Source: EW]

• The Ketamine which Cuddy administers to House will be successful… at least for a time.
• While “cured” by the Ketamine, House will test Cameron’s affection for him now that he’s no longer wounded.
• Finally, the switch to 8pm is temporary. After new episodes in September, House will take a brief hiatus for playoff baseball. When it comes back, it is expected to be in it’s traditional 9pm time slot.
