Interesting Peter Jacobson Interview

March 1, 2009 by Lynn

Did you know that Hugh Laurie stays in his American accent all day when he’s on the House set? It seems perfectly logical that he would, but see what reaction Peter Jacobson had when Hugh spoke in his native British accent one day on set.

In this interview with Hollywood 411, Peter also talks about how the fellow cast members have reacted toward him as one of the “Newbies” on set. See why he thinks that Dr. House is so popular, even though he’s such a grouchy, snarky character. And find out the surprising fans he discovered recently:

Robert Sean Leonard Interview

January 19, 2009 by Lynn

Here’s a short clip of TV Guide’s Matt Mitovich talking to Robert Sean Leonard about what’s in store for Wilson in season 5. RSL gives us the spoiler that Wilson’s brother may be showing up on the show soon. They haven’t yet cast the character, but he gives a couple of actors’ names that he’d like to see considered for the part.

In an earlier season, there was a bit of a hint that Wilson’s brother was homeless. I think that is fascinating, actually. Since he comes from a family with its own share of dysfunction, it might help explain why he is friends with House…in spite of all House’s oddness. Check out the clip:

Three More House Golden Globe Interviews

January 12, 2009 by Lynn

Also, my contact at TV Guide sent me the heads up about these three red carpet interviews at last night’s Golden Globes. The first video is with Executive Producer Katie Jacobs and she gives us a few veiled spoilers! For one, she addresses the fact that Thirteen is such a polarizing force with the fans. She also hints that House and Cuddy may end up in bed together this season. And she also gives us a bit of a tease about the way the season may end and the fact that there may be a team member leaving the show.

In this clip, Olivia Wilde tries to keep mum about the future of Thirteen & Foreman but lets a couple of little things slip. She explains why their new relationship will obviously have conflict and she acknowledges that her character is a polarizing one. I think it’s cute how she scolds the interviewer for knowing so much.

And in this third clip, Omar Epps is asked if Foreman & Thirteen will have “bedroom action” this season. It’s cute how he tries to avoid answering, but Katie Jacobs steps in and answers for him.

TV Guide’s Possible Answer to Kristin’s Riddle

Episode 5.11: Joy to the World
Air Date: December 9, 2008

Lisa EdelsteinAfter some more searching about for the answer to tonight’s episode, I got an email from my contact at TV Guide with a tip about this interview with Lisa Edelstein. In it, she answers several questions that just might answer the riddle about why tonight’s episode will be emotional. Here’s an excerpt:

TVGuide.com: Let’s tease best we can this week’s episode. Fox says, cryptically, “Cuddy receives a gift.”
Edelstein: Right….

TVGuide.com: Is it bigger than a breadbox?
Edelstein: Yes, it is. [Pauses] Well, that’s debatable. How big is a loaf of bread …? It’s bigger than some breadboxes.

TVGuide.com: All in all, is it a pretty emotional episode?
Edelstein: It’s a very emotional episode. There’s a really interesting case that comes in that Cuddy becomes fixated by. She’s the one that has the House-ian “A-ha” moment that we see him have a lot. It was a really challenging episode, in a great way, with a wonderful guest star (B.K. Cannon).

TVGuide.com: What else is ahead for Cuddy this season?
Edelstein: I don’t want to say too much, but she definitely has some new challenges coming her way. She has a lot more on her plate.

Sounds like a baby to me… But you really should go read the whole interview because she talks a lot about the Huddy relationship and also about her stripper-pole performance last season. It’s a great interview!

TV Guide Takes a Look at the House / Wilson “Bromance”

October 12, 2008 by Lynn

image001.jpgGet ready to find and get a copy of the upcoming October 13th issue of TV Guide! In it, there’s a feature examining the relationship between House and Wilson. I think the cover image says it all, don’t you? ;-)

UPDATE! You can go see scans of the article here: [image 1][image 2][image 3][image 4][image 5][image 6][image 7]

Of course, Hugh Laurie and Robert Sean Leonard have to give their funny points of view on the topic:

Hugh Laurie: “Wilson and House have an unusual relationship so you have to explore all angles”
Robert Sean Leonard: “…not that there’s anything wrong with that”

The feature takes a humorous look into the romantic triangle between House, Wilson and Amber and concludes that the only possible solution was to kill off the character of Amber.

Hugh Laurie also offers this amazing insight that I love:

“In fact, and Robert may fight me on this one,” Laurie reveals, “but I believe this show is at heart about Wilson, not House. It’s Wilson’s view of the world that lets the viewer in. It’s his levelheaded narration, as it were, that provides a backbone for the show. As in the Sherlock Holmes stories, where Watson was writing about ‘my brilliant friend’ or ‘my brilliant, annoying friend,’ it’s the same thing.”

I laughed my entire way through the press release and without copying it straight into this post, I can tell you that the feature will be more than worth your time and effort to track down and get the issue!

Matt Mitovich at TV Guide gives us another of his insightful spoilers for House. He tells us a bit of what the season 5 premiere will involve for House, Wilson & Thirteen. But he only gives it an 8(!?!) Here it is, as part of the Mitovich Mega Minute:

TV Guide Interviewed Band From TV

August 15, 2008 by Lynn

Band From TVHere’s a clip where TV Guide interviewed the band members of Band From TV at last Saturday’s concert. They talked a bit to Jesse Spencer and showed a number of bits with Hugh Laurie & Jesse playing onstage.

It looks like the group is getting more and more acclaim these days and hopefully that means we’ll be seeing a lot more of them in the future. Apparently, lots of stars want to join them, so the group may keep growing in size too. Check it out:

More House Spoilers

August 14, 2008 by Lynn

house-spoiler-template.jpg

TV Guide’s Mickey O’Connor gives us a couple of new spoiler nuggets for House in season 5. They aren’t huge, but I hope you find them interesting anyway:

At House’s TCA session all I saw was Hugh Laurie, Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps and the “new team.” Does that mean that Jennifer Morrison (Cameron) and Jesse Spencer (Chase) are no longer part of the show? — Kerry
Mickey: Very observant, Kerry, but I’m told their absence is not significant. Both Morrison and Spencer remain series regulars. In fact, an upcoming ep promises to shed new light on the couple.

Any romantic relationships for Dr. House this season? — Stephanie
Mickey: There’s a rumor that he and Cuddy will stop circling and start canoodling this season, but you didn’t hear it from me!
